House Captains 2024 - 2025
Every child at St Peter’s is part of a school House Team.
Our teams were named in consultation with our pupils, parents and staff. As our Christian faith is integral to everything we do at St Peter’s, we decided upon names which are symbolic to St Peter: Cross, Rock, Fisher and Keys.
Throughout the year, the children are divided into their house teams for various activities, including half termly inter-house sporting competitions, sports days and end of term quizzes.
The children earn points for their house teams by working hard in class and demonstrating our Christian values. At the end of each term, the points are totalled, with the winning team receiving a special treat.
Role and Expectations of House Captains
Every house is led by two Year 6 children. At the beginning of the academic year, each member of the Year 6 class is required to prepare a speech which they deliver to the entire school. The children and staff then vote to select two House Captains who will lead each house for the academic year.
The role of House Captain is one of pride and responsibility, and requires dedication and commitment for the entire year.
We expect our House Captains to:
- Demonstrate our Christian values on a daily basis
- Be a positive role model and an ambassador for the school
- Be caring, encouraging, friendly and supportive of all children, especially those in their house team
- Be enthusiastic and committed to the house system at St Peter’s
- Work together as a team to achieve success for all
Role Description
- Inspire the children in their house team
- Lead and support the children in their house team in a variety of house competitions and activities
- Work closely with the Headteacher, providing ideas and support for competitions and house related activities
- Select a charity to support for the academic year; help to organise and lead fundraising activities

A few words from our Captains:
Hello! My name is Elsa and I am very proud to say that I am one of the House Captains for Cross. I will work hard to make Cross an amazing house. Can we beat Rock’s record of winning two trips in a row, of course we can! I promise to work hard and to be the very best House Captain possible.
My name is Molly and I am one of the House Captains for Cross this year. I am delighted to be House Captain because I think that I can make Cross the very best house for the children to be in. A bit about me; I am very approachable meaning that anyone can come and talk to me and I am really cheerful. I always try my best to be positive in every situation. I am very excited about this role and look forward to leading our team to victory this year.
My name is Zac and I am a House Captain for Fisher. I am delighted to have the opportunity to play a part in helping the school to thrive. I love team work and supporting and caring for others people. I will always be there to listen and help any member of the school community. I love sports and football in particular. I can’t wait for the house competitions, where I will be cheering our house on. I’m also really looking forward to sports day and hopefully being the winning house again! I am looking forward to raising lots of money for our house charities and most of all I can’t wait to have lots of fun this year.
My name is Wynie and I am very honoured to be a House Captain for Rock this year. House Captain is a big role, every house does amazingly well but I want to do more for Rock because IT IS THE BEST HOUSE! Now I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself. My three loves are taking care of people, sport - I have a lot to say about sports - I'm on the football team, cricket team, netball team and for me the most important part of being on a team is to have FUN and the last thing I adore is baking - cakes, cookies and biscuits - yum!
My name is Sipara and I am very proud to be House Captain for Rock alongside Wynie. I absolutely love Art, Computing, Science, Maths and sometimes a bit of English too! I am looking forward to encouraging our team to earn lots of house points so that we can win the next house trip. I also can’t wait to get to know members of my team better and for us to all work together to make Rock the best team ever!
My name is George and I am one of the House Captains for Keys. I’m so excited to be House Captain and look forward to motivating Keys to win lots of house points and go on as many trips as possible. This year, I hope to be a great role model for my house and raise a lot of money for the charities we will be supporting. I will try to get to know every one of you which will prove to me how amazing this house is and how much we can do as a team.
My name is Becky and I’m proud to be House Captain for Keys. I’m delighted that I have been selected for this role as I believe that I am a good role model for others and a great team leader. I believe that this year we can lead Keys to victory!
This year our House Captains collectively decided to support the following four charities:
Shooting Star
Sunday Suppers
Save the Children
Daisy Chain
Throughout the year, the House Captains will raise awareness of these charities by leading whole school collective worship sessions and fundraising events.
